Battle Unbelief

“But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” — John 20:31
“The Word of God is the seed from which faith grows. If you would believe in Christ, read the Scriptures, for they testify of Him and lead the soul to trust in His name.” — Charles Spurgeon
The Gospel of John tells us exactly why it was written: so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ and, by believing, have life in His name.
So why do we see so many people falling away or “deconstructing” their faith today? At its core, I believe it comes down to unbelief. And how do we fight unbelief? By getting into the Word of God.
Nearly every statistic about the modern church points to the same issue—a lack of Bible engagement and a shallow understanding of Scripture. If people are not rooted in the Word, it’s no surprise that belief begins to weaken.
We need to return to reading, studying, and preaching the Word of God.
The Bible speaks powerfully to the questions people are wrestling with today. In a world filled with confusion—where people wonder what is true, what is manipulated, what is AI-generated, or where to stand on cultural and global issues—the Word of God remains a steady foundation.
Questions about truth, justice, war, nations, identity, and purpose are all addressed in Scripture. God has not left us without guidance.
The Bible is available to us. We simply need to open it and read.
Because as we read, the Spirit works through the Word to strengthen our faith. And as John tells us, these things are written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ—and by believing, have life in His name.
So get in the Word of God.
This is how we battle unbelief in a confused and chaotic world.
