Holy Week

“The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.”Matthew 27:52-53
“The resurrection of the saints was a visible testimony that Christ, by His death, had conquered death, and that the grave had lost its dominion.”
— John Calvin
This Holy Week has reminded me how powerful the events surrounding Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection truly are.
Death is the greatest fear we face because we were never meant to die. We were created to live forever with God. But sin separated us from Him.
That’s why the resurrection is the turning point in all of history.
Jesus didn’t just die for our sins — He defeated death itself. The graves were opened. Many saints rose and appeared in the holy city. The centurion who watched Jesus die declared, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
He was buried.
Three days later the tomb was empty.
Hundreds of people saw Him alive.
His followers were willing to die for what they witnessed.
And Christianity spread like wildfire across the Roman Empire.
Something undeniable happened.
The best explanation is simple: Jesus really rose from the dead.
Today I’m deeply thankful for the cross and even more thankful that Jesus is alive. I don’t just believe it — I know Him personally.
As we finish Holy Week, take time to dwell on these events. Let them sink in. Jesus is real. The resurrection is real.
He is alive — and that changes everything.
Let’s celebrate His victory together tomorrow. Bring someone with you to church. They need to hear the testimony of a living Savior.
