Keep Praying
“Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves…’ …because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” — Luke 11:5–10
“It is not enough to begin to pray, nor to pray aright; nor is it enough to continue for a time to pray; but we must patiently, believingly, continue in prayer until we obtain an answer; and further we have not only to continue in prayer unto the end, but we have also to believe that God does hear us, and will answer our prayers.” — George Müller
In our instant-everything culture—Amazon next-day delivery, same-hour food apps, instant answers—we’re not used to waiting. We can get almost anything we want right now (unless Beth Lind is managing the budget!). But the things that truly burden our hearts? It’s easy to pray once or twice and then give up when nothing changes quickly.
I know this struggle personally. A decade ago, God put two big burdens on my heart: to see America turn back to Jesus, and to see my brother give his life to Christ. I haven’t seen either fully answered…yet. But this morning, God reminded me: keep going. I may not see the full answer in my lifetime—that’s biblical. Hebrews 11 heroes like Abraham, Moses, and others died still believing without receiving the complete promise in this life, yet they persisted in faith.
Don’t grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Keep knocking. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Fight the Western urge for instant results. Persistent prayer isn’t passive waiting—it’s active, believing trust that God hears and will answer in His perfect way and time.
If you don’t quit, you win.
Have a great day! Stay persistent in prayer today—keep knocking, keep believing, and trust His timing. God is faithful!
