Many Will Turn Away

“After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.” John 6:66
“Miracles do not compel belief. They can be explained away, ignored, or resented. The human heart is capable of seeing the most astonishing act of God and saying, ‘I still will not have this man rule over me.’ Faith is not forced by evidence; it is surrendered in love and humility.” C.S. Lewis
Jesus had just fed 5,000 and performed miracle after miracle. The crowds followed Him—until He told them the real truth: He is the bread of life. To have eternal life, they had to eat of Him, believe in His death, burial, and resurrection. For many who just wanted bread for their stomachs or more signs, this was too much. They walked away.
We can’t focus on temporary fixes or worldly kingdoms. Following Jesus isn’t easy. It takes faith, not logic. We don’t earn salvation—we believe and follow Him. Arguing rarely changes hearts. Sharing what you believe can strengthen your own faith, but ultimately, people need to believe in Jesus themselves.
That’s why praying for the lost matters so much. They need a supernatural encounter with Him. Miracles can point the way, but even after feeding thousands, many still turned back. This is why daily following Jesus is everything. He died to restore relationship with us.
When you share Jesus, tell your story—how you encountered Him. Revelation says we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Go tell someone what God has done for you. Pray they believe. One conversation can plant a seed.
Have a great day walking with Him and sharing the real bread of life!
