Prayer
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Matthew 6:9-13
“Prayer is the greatest of all forces because it honors God and brings Him into active aid. The praying Christian wields the mightiest force in the universe.” E.M. Bounds
Yesterday at our prayer meeting, the Lord touched my heart deeply. I heard a prayer that overflowed from a life cultivated in the secret place. I’ve kept my morning time with Jesus in the Bible, but I’ve neglected intercession and prayer—for our nation, for the lost, for revival. Disappointment and loss had hardened that part of my heart. After losing our last baby, I questioned God’s goodness and His promises. Then I remembered His faithfulness despite my faithlessness. I had to repent.
Today I’m re-signing up to partner with God. I’ve seen Him move so much in this nation and my own life—lost people I prayed for saved, hearts turned back to Jesus. He is faithful to His promises and answers prayer. I want to press in more. I want to see His kingdom come. I want to be an answer to those prayers through obedience and intercession.
I encourage you: re-sign up for prayer today. Contend for that thing God put on your heart.
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness even when mine falters. Renew our hearts for prayer. Let Your kingdom come. Have a great day pressing in for the things God puts on your heart to pray for.
