Revival At Your Job

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
“God does not ask for perfect ability; He asks for perfect willingness. Whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord. A janitor who cleans for Jesus is doing greater work than a preacher who preaches for applause. True stewardship and excellence come from one motive: I am serving the Lord Christ.” D.L. Moody
How do we show the world Jesus? By being excellent examples in everyday life. Someone once said, “Preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary use words.” That’s real.
When God first called me to missions, I was so excited to serve Him. On my very first day at YWAM, I saw a young guy come in late, take long breaks. When I asked why he was slacking, he said, “I’m a volunteer.” It shocked me. As Christians we should be the best at whatever we do—not because we’re the most skilled, but because our attitude is different. We work heartily as for the Lord.
When coworkers see our joy, our work ethic, our excellence, they notice. We spend 40 hours a week with them—that’s a huge opportunity to shine. We can win whole industries for Jesus by being the best owners, employees, and coworkers.
Ministry isn’t just Sunday; your 9-to-5 is ministry too. Whatever you do—big or small—do it unto the Lord. Be a light in your workplace. Be ready to explain why you show up with such heart. That’s one of the best ways to preach the gospel.
This morning I challenge you: work heartily for Jesus today. Let your life make people curious about Him.
Have a great day serving the Lord Christ in everything!
