The Harvest
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. The greatest need in the world today is not more money, more strategies, or more technology—it is more laborers. We must pray and go so that the unreached hear the gospel and the nations worship the Lamb.” John Piper
If you watch the news, it can feel like the world is spiraling into darkness. But the opposite is true. God is shaking things, and we are in one of the greatest harvest seasons the world has ever seen.
The church in the UK has quadrupled—led primarily by Gen Z men. God is moving powerfully in the nations and right here in America. Last year, evangelism events we held once drew 3,000 people; now we’re planning 30 events with 5,000 at each. The harvest is truly plentiful.
Yet my heart breaks for the reality that approximately 166,000 people die each day without having heard the gospel or without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ—many from unreached people groups with little to no access, especially in the 10/40 Window. These are God’s children. They need to hear. How will they hear unless someone is sent? (Romans 10:14-15)
We have a heart to train and equip laborers from America to go to the nations. In just three weeks, we’re excited to visit our dear friends serving in the Middle East, sharing the gospel with Muslims who have never heard. But we need more laborers.
The task is daunting, but we can all be involved:
- Pray earnestly for a nation on your heart this morning.
- Give to a missionary who is going (I can connect you).
- Go on a short-term trip this summer (I can help with that too).
Last night at Antioch Waco, they commissioned dozens of long-term laborers to unreached people groups—giving their lives for the gospel. We need more of this.
Pray with me: Lord of the harvest, send out laborers. Stir hearts, raise up workers, and let the nations worship the Lamb. Use us to see Your kingdom come.
Have a great day praying, giving, and going for the harvest!
