Victory!

Victory!

“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 15:55-57

“Death is no longer a prison for the believer, but a passage into glory. The sting is gone because Christ has borne it for us.”

— Charles Spurgeon

It’s amazing how much Christians talk about battling and struggling. Yes, we live in a world still marked by sin and death — but the good news is we don’t fight for victory. We fight from victory.

Today, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, remember this powerful truth:

Death has lost its sting. The grave has lost its power. Jesus defeated both when He rose from the dead 2,000 years ago.

Because He lives, we have already won.

So when the battles come — and they will — don’t fight like defeated people. Fight like victors. Act like people who know the outcome is already settled.

The gates of hell will not prevail against the church. That is not a defensive promise — it’s an offensive one. Jesus has given us His victory, and now we get to advance the gospel with confidence.

Let’s live like it today.

Let’s go tell people the good news.

Let’s invite them into the family of a risen King.

Lord, I pray that many who don’t normally come to church would walk through the doors today, hear the gospel, and encounter the victorious life found only in Jesus.

He is risen — and so are we!
