Walking In Freedom

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
“When God shows you your sin, do not despair. This is His mercy calling you back. Repentance is the Christian’s daily posture: turning from self to Christ again and again. The moment you see your fault is the moment grace is nearest.” Martin Luther
Yesterday during my time with the Lord, He gently showed me an area I needed to repent of. To some it might seem small, but any sin separates us from God. The little things left unchecked can grow into bigger strongholds.
Over the years I’ve noticed fewer huge sins to confess, but daily maintenance is still necessary. When I repented and brought it into the light with the couple guys I’m walking closely with, there was no room left for shame or condemnation. We really can walk in freedom.
Spending time with Jesus and listening to Him is key. He points out areas to surrender—whether forgiving someone or repenting ourselves. Here’s a simple tool I’ve used for 11 years that helps me stay free:
1. Repent of the sin
2. Receive His forgiveness
3. Rebuke the enemy
4. Replace the lie with truth (Scripture)
Try it today. Acts 3:19 says, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” It’s true—letting go feels good.
Have a great day walking in the freedom Christ died to give you!
