You Will Have Tribulation

You Will Have Tribulation

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“In the midst of tribulation, Jesus says, ‘I have overcome the world.’ This is our confidence—not that we escape suffering, but that Christ has triumphed over it. Only in Him do we find the peace that sustains us through every storm and leads us to eternal life.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

The best way to prepare ourselves and other believers is to be honest: tribulation is coming. When we promise only peace, blessings, and prosperity, trials shake faith that isn’t rooted in God’s Word. Jesus never promised an easy life. He promised peace *in* the tribulation because of the cross.

I’ve faced the same—if not more—obstacles after surrendering to Jesus. The difference? Death lost its sting (1 Corinthians 15:55), and I have peace that passes understanding. In a broken world, pain is inevitable. But Jesus works all things for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

Intimacy with Jesus is the key. Sit at His feet. Know His nature and character through His Word. We can’t rely on messages that promise only blessing. We must know the Bible ourselves. Cling to Jesus. In His presence we find unshakable peace amid the storms He said would come.

Take heart—Jesus has overcome the world. Go tell someone this good news today: Jesus has overcome.

Have a great day resting in His victory!
