Christ Is the End of the Law: Why Christians Aren't Under Torah: Ep. 70
Should Christians still observe the Torah? In Episode 68 we sat down with Nathaniel Alexander — and genuinely could not agree. This is where we land.
In this follow-up, David and Jonathan walk back through that conversation with their Bibles open and their convictions on the table. Who was the law of Moses actually given to? What did Paul mean when he said Christ is the end of the law? And if we aren't bound to the letter of the Torah, does that mean anything goes?
They work through Galatians 3, Romans 6, and 2 Corinthians 3 to show that the law was never the source of righteousness — it was a tutor pointing to Christ. The law was powerless because of the flesh. What it could not do, God did by sending His own Son. Sanctification isn't earned by keeping ceremonial law; it's the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Obedience becomes the natural outflow of faith, not the price of it.
