Proving Jesus is the Christ

“But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.” — Acts 9:22
“Jesus was a Jewish itinerant guy walking around Roman-occupied first-century Judea making some pretty audacious claims. He claims to be God Himself, and then He predicts His own death and resurrection. The resurrection is God’s loud declaration that Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be — the divine Son of God.” — Wes Huff
When I first got saved, I came to Jesus by faith. But as I began reading the Bible, my faith grew even stronger. The Word of God reinforced what I already believed.
Not everyone comes to faith the same way.
Some people come through a simple step of faith, like I did. Others need evidence. That’s why I deeply appreciate men like Wes Huff — and the Apostle Paul before him — who are anointed not only to be filled with the Holy Spirit, but also to give clear, compelling evidence for the resurrection of Jesus.
Paul didn’t just preach emotionally. He proved that Jesus was the Christ.
Some people’s eyes will remain blind to this truth, but others will have their eyes opened — some through simple faith, and some through solid evidence.
That’s why we need both.
We are called to “always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks for a reason for the hope that is in us” (1 Peter 3:15). We don’t have to be professional apologists like Paul or Wes Huff, but every believer should be able to explain why we believe Jesus rose from the dead and why He is the only hope for the world.
Let’s take advantage of the incredible resources available today and prepare ourselves to be faithful witnesses.
The world desperately needs this hope.
Be ready today.
Go tell someone about the risen Jesus.
